Subway Boss Ingo, a character introduced in the Pokémon Black and White Version, assumes the role of the player’s final challenge when tackling the Single Battle line of the Battle Subway. He shares an uncanny resemblance to Subway Boss Emmet, as they are identical twins. However, In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Ingo’s life takes a dramatic turn when he is forcefully transported back in time through a space-time rift to the Hisui region. This event leads to severe memory loss and sets him on a new path as a Pearl Clan member, responsible for overseeing Sneasler. As the story unfolds, Ingo gradually recovers fragments of his past upon encountering the player.
Pokemon Ingo’s Appearance
Pokemon Ingo possesses an imposing stature, standing tall and exuding a remarkable slimness (ectomorphic). His fair skin complements his striking silver hair, characterized by locks that resemble lightning bolts gracefully curving over the sides of his face. Despite the silver locks, Ingo maintains a youthful appearance. His eyes, semi-circular and catlike, gleam with silver irises, leaving a lasting impression. Ingo dons a tall, ebony conductor’s cap and a lengthy, high-collared black trench coat adorned with sizable silver buttons and cylindrical cuffs that bear silver trim on their sides. The sleeves feature bold black and brown stripes at their center, creating a pattern reminiscent of railroad tracks when viewed from any angle.
Underneath his distinctive trench coat, Ingo sports a formal white dress shirt complemented by a blue necktie, black dress pants, and polished black shoes. His hands are adorned with white gloves. Following his extended stay in Hisui, Ingo’s appearance reflects the passage of time, showcasing a goatee, a more solemn countenance, and dimmer eyes. His once-pristine hat now bears signs of wear, and his trench coat hangs loosely, unbuttoned, and riddled with holes. His dress shirt has been replaced by the Pearl Clan uniform. Removing his hat reveals a receding hairline, resulting in a partially bald head.

Ingo exudes an air of wisdom and mystery befitting his role as a subway train conductor. As the elder of the twin brothers, with Emmet being his counterpart, he naturally assumes a more serious and stoic demeanor. His countenance often carries a stoic frown, and he consistently imparts sagacious advice and encouragement to the player during their Battle Subway challenges. However, the onset of severe memory loss transforms Ingo into a more weathered and fatigued figure, seemingly drained of joy and marked by a deep sense of melancholy. Nonetheless, his inherent seriousness and stoicism remain unaltered.

Black and White
After the player achieves an impressive streak of 21 consecutive victories in the Battle Subway, Ingo emerges as the ultimate challenge. He deploys a formidable team of three Pokémon to test the player’s skills. Upon reaching 48 consecutive battles, Ingo once again extends an invitation to face him, this time with even stronger Pokémon. In Multi-battles, both Ingo and Emmet unite their forces against the player, engaging in 21 battles initially and later intensifying the challenge to 48 battles.
Black 2 and White 2
In the sequel to Black and White, Ingo reprises his role, mirroring his previous involvement. However, an intriguing addition arises as Ingo and Emmet engage the player’s counterpart in battle as well, adding a fresh layer of excitement to their encounters.
Legends: Arceus
In an enigmatic turn of events, Ingo becomes separated from Emmet, thrust into the Hisui region through a mysterious space-time rift. This traumatic experience leaves him with profound memory loss, leaving him with only fragmented recollections of his name and a vague memory involving his Chandelure and brother. In Hisui, he finds a new purpose as a member of the Pearl Clan and takes on the role of a Warden overseeing Sneasler. It is through his encounter with the player and subsequent battles that Ingo gradually reclaims pieces of his past, reminiscing about a world where humans and Pokémon coexisted harmoniously. Players can challenge Ingo at the Training Ground once they initiate the request.
